Many administrators use the useful VMware vCenter Converter Standalone tool to prepare (even for testing) tests systems from productions client or servers. Workaround: Start the Converter Standalone agent manually: Right-click My Computer and select Manage.
Converter Standalone agent does not start automatically after reboot If the source machine starts up too slowly, Converter Standalone agent might not start automatically after the source machine is restarted. Edit: From vmware 6.2.01 standalone converter Release Notes, XP is not listed as a supported OS for this version of converter. This was an issue for me with converting XP machines to Xenserver using xenconvert i know different products, but still i will suggest to find an older version of a converter program.
